Brief History of Pastor E.A Adeboye















Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye was born on 2 march, 1942 in ifewara, near ife, in osun state, Nigeria to a family of six. At that time, his father (moses) and mother ( esther) was a peasant farmer. Enoch Adejare Adeboye began his Education at ilesha Grammar School,ilesha, osun state. Thereafter, he gained admission into the university of Nigeria (UNN) Nsukka to study mathematics, but due to the civil war, he couldn't complete his education there. He then proceed to university of lagos where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1967.Therefore, he went further to obtained masters degree in hydrodynamics and PhD in Applied Mathematics both from the same university of lagos.

He got married to foluke Adenike in 1967 at the age of 25 and they are blessed with four children namely: Adeolu Adeboye, Pastor (Mrs) bolu Adubi nee Adeboye, leke adeboye and Dare Adeboye. Who have also became a great men and woman of God today.

Adeboye initially became one of the interpreters translating Pastor Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi's sermon from yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975, and his appointment as leader (General Overseer) of the church was formalized by the posthumous reading of pastor Akindayomi's Sealed pronouncement. He juggled his General Overseer positionof the RCCG church, which was established in 1952 but was little known until the 1990's with his part-time Mathematics lecturing job in Unilag and Unilorin but later quit the job to become a full- time pastor.
