Thing you need to know about Maiduguri, Borno state.
Maiduguri is a well known capital of Borno state. Sharing boundaries with Yobe and Adamawa state and it falls into North eastern region of Nigeria by geopolitical zoning. Maiduguri is one of the state that has the largest land mass, different tribes and cultures with diversspeaking languages. Over the years,there is a lot of havoc that happens ranging from insurgency (boko haram) to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 that also claim lives of people that contact the deadly diseases. It is raining season again in Maiduguri, this is the time that many citizen of the state loss their properties and homes and some were even affected of malaria due to the fact that when heavy rain falls it does not dry quickly, it take days before stagnated water dries, and this always aid the transmission of malaria through mosquitoes. factor needed to be addressed are namely below.
1. Flat terrain: the nature of land shape in Maiduguri is flat ground which made it difficult to channel stagnated water after rain, thereby causing health challenge to the people in the state.
2. Planting of Trees: as we all know that trees also serves as "wind breaker". Plantation of tree close to homes, factories, shops should be encouraged to avoid removal of roof and at the same time the properties.
3. Encouragement of standard material for roofing.
4. Over population:
Bringing insurgency to an end so that every villager will be able to go back to there respective families and start a new life, as the insurgent has cause the spread of COVID-19 due to over population in the state capital.
