Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, is the current Nigerian Army Chief of Army Staff, below are is success story.

It was foretold by Diruwuallah that 3 great men will emerge from Biu in 1660,1760,1860 and 1960. Amongst the Great men was the present day Nigerian Army Chief of Army Staff,Lieutenant General Yusuf Tukur Buratai who was born on November,24,1960.which was trace down to the ancient town.



Thereafter, he gained admission into government Teacher's College, Potiskum, the present day Yobe state where he graduated with distinction.



In 1981,he got admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy, which is best refer to as N.D.A in Kaduna.



As at that time, the military degree awarding institution is mainly for young Nigerian who want to be either Army,Airforce and Navy officers and had passed their Senior Secondary School Examination with five Credits including English language and Mathematics are eligible to apply.



But in recent time, prospective applicants seeking admission into the N.D.A. must go through the U.T.M.E ( Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination).



Buratai joined the Nigerian Defence Academy as a 29 regular Combatant Course during his time in the institution he was the Cadet Sergeant Major(CSM).



At the completion of his training he was commissioned as a second lieutenant into Nigerian Army Infantry Corps. He also barge a degree in history from the prestigious University of Professionals, Dhaka and also a member of the National Defence College of Bangladesh.











He served his fatherland in different locations with utmost diligence, excellence.

* Director Staff at the Armed forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.



* Department of Army Policy and plans, Army Headquarters, Abuja.



* Assistant Chief of Staff, Administrative matters, Jaji.



* Director, Department of land Warfare,Jaji.



* Commander 2 Brigade, port-harcourt.



* Commander,Sector 2 Joint Task Force( JTF), OP PULO SHIELD,Niger Delta.



* In 2012, Got promoted to the rank of Major General.
